Many cancer patients find that affording cancer treatment is a major concern. Some will just plainly give up when this happens. When they forgo treatment, their health will take a turn for the worse until it’s too late.
For many years, MAKNA has keenly envisaged establishing a centre for individuals who cannot afford treatment. In 1999, MAKNA’s vision was realised with the establishment of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre-MAKNA Cancer Centre (UKMMC-MMC) after a memorandum of understanding between the two parties was signed. From then on, the centre has grown into one of the most respectable cancer centres in the region and to-date, it has treated close to 100,000 patients.
