Reconnecting for a Stronger Future: MAKNA Welcomes UICC
Good things happen when like-minded people come together. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a friend from the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) at MAKNA. What started as a visit turned into a meaningful moment of reflection, learning, and looking ahead.
During their time with us, UICC shared kind words about MAKNA’s journey — from our early days as a small local effort to the wide-reaching impact we’re making today. They were especially touched by how we support cancer patients at every stage of life, from prevention and early detection to emotional care, treatment support and even life after cancer.
But this wasn’t just a polite meet-and-greet. It was a real, honest exchange of ideas. We talked about the bigger picture, how we can work together, share knowledge and create stronger systems that truly support people on the ground. It was a reminder that compassion and collaboration can go hand in hand.
As MAKNA steps into the next chapter of its 30-year journey, this renewed connection with UICC is a promising sign of what’s to come. With global insights and local heart, we’re moving forward to keep making cancer care more reachable, more human and more full of hope.
