Strengthening Breast Cancer Support Through Collaboration
Most of us understand that early detection saves lives. Yet, over half of breast cancer cases in Malaysia are still diagnosed at later stages. This Pink October, MAKNA continues to champion the importance of translating awareness into action; ensuring women have access to timely screening, early treatment and ongoing support.
In conjunction with Pink October 2025 at Damansara Specialist Hospital, key discussions highlighted the growing number of women, including those under 50, being diagnosed with breast cancer. With advances in modern treatment, early-stage breast cancer now has a high survival rate, reinforcing the need for accessible and regular screening for all women.
The launch of the hospital’s upgraded Oncology Day Care Unit, officiated by DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, reflected a shared commitment to compassionate and holistic cancer care. Contributions extended to MAKNA and fellow cancer NGOs further strengthened collaborative efforts to support patients beyond medical treatment alone.

For MAKNA, breast cancer advocacy goes further. It is about reducing barriers to screening, supporting patients and families through every stage of the cancer journey. This is to ensure that no one is left behind due to financial or social limitations.
Through education, early detection and community support, MAKNA continues to stand with cancer patients across Malaysia — because every step towards care brings hope closer to home.
