Creating A Brighter Future: BE International Continues to Support MAKNA Scholarship Program
Education is more than a path forward. For young cancer survivors, it’s a bridge toward rebuilding confidence, hope and a sense of normalcy. The MAKNA Scholarship Programme, an initiative under the National Cancer Council (MAKNA), ensures that education is not another casualty of cancer, turning the journey of healing into one of growth and purpose.
BE International has once again reaffirmed its commitment to these young fighters by contributing RM160,000 to the MAKNA Scholarship Programme, supporting underprivileged cancer patients and survivors in continuing their education. The contribution will be channelled over the next two years, amounting to a total of RM320,000.

This renewed pledge follows BE International’s RM200,000 contribution in 2024, which empowered 197 students from primary to tertiary levels to pursue their education despite the challenges of cancer treatment and recovery.
In recognition of this partnership, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to formalise the collaboration, with the scholarship now carrying the name “MAKNA Scholarship Programme supported by BE International.” The partnership was celebrated alongside BE International’s “Support with Purpose #AULORAPinkSupport” campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which featured a health talk, free breast examinations and MAKNA’s Mobile Exhibition Truck to promote early detection and awareness.
Through partnerships like this, MAKNA continues to champion a holistic approach to cancer support; one that goes beyond treatment to nurture education, welfare and emotional resilience. With the continued support of partners such as BE International, every contribution becomes more than a donation. It becomes a promise of hope, opportunity, and a brighter tomorrow for young lives touched by cancer.
