A special event designed to celebrate and deepen the collaboration between MAKNA and Medical Social Work (MSW) officers from across Malaysia. This gathering brought together 72 MSW officers from government hospitals nationwide
BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd recently demonstrated its unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility through a significant donation of RM 200,000 to Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA). The funds will be channelled towards the MAKNA Young Cancer Survivor Scholarship, a program designed to ease the financial burden of education for young cancer survivors and children of cancer patients.
The primary goal of the program was to empower teenagers by increasing their health awareness, knowledge, and skills, thus promoting a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The event saw the participation of nearly 500 students and school staff.
Twenty climbers, including two cancer survivors, are embarking on an extraordinary journey to conquer Mulu Pinnacles, Sarawak and Mount Kinabalu, Sabah. This inspiring initiative called Klimb Pinnacles to Kinabalu, aims to raise funds and awareness for underprivileged cancer patients in Malaysia.
The launching of the newest Majlis Kanser Nasional’s (MAKNA) Halfway House, which was officiated by the Deputy Medical Director of Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital, Dr Siti Salmy Binti Mat Nor, will facilitate the journey of cancer patients to get treatment, especially paediatric cancer patients.
During the meet-and-greet, we had the chance to catch up, share stories, and strengthen the bond between MAKNA and its volunteers. It was a truly heartwarming experience, and we were so grateful to see the smiles on everyone's faces.
At MAKNA, where empowering individuals and families facing cancer fuels our every action, we recently hosted a landmark visit from Pita Kuning, a renowned Indonesian NGO sharing our vision of a world free from this disease.
The theme, "Close the Care Gap," resonated deeply with all participants, who gathered not only to raise global awareness but also to pledge collaborative action towards improving cancer detection, treatment, and support across Malaysia
The event, which took place on February 4, 2024, from 6:00 am to 10:45 am, attracted over 500 participants and supporters, all united in the fight against cancer
